The third custom egg we created was Ei:gentum Nr. 182, owned by “churros”. They are a member of SMB and wanted an egg they could gift to the MonkeDAO as a thank you.
This was his initial idea:

what i was thinking is, if possible, it would be awesome if you could create an egg out of a bushel of bananas. if we could do anything else or with the background to add in MonkeDAO imagery/symbols that would be really cool (jungle background? logo somewhere?)
Now this was a challenge. For this to work we had to create a lot of 3D bananas. I didn’t have any banana models in my 3D asset library so i had to think of something different. I went out and bought a bunch of bananas in my local supermarket.
On a Saturday noon, i took a few hours of my time and 3d scanned them. Around 2.000 pictures of bananas were taken that day.
The result were a bunch of 3D models of bananas.
To get these bananas into egg shape i used the same technique as with the poker egg. (read more about this here)
With the hair-particle system in place it was a tedious job of fine-tuning it until we were satisfied.
The background is a combination of different jungle plants and trees and some rocks to give it a proper “jungle” feel.
This was the most time consuming egg we ever created. The 3D scan process was fun to do and i even learned somethings on the way. Definitely worth it.
The final result came out great and will make a fine addition to the MonkeDao!
